Joaq is a Dominican-American filmmaker from the New York diaspora. A genre-agnostic filmmaker with projects in the drama, comedy, and thriller spaces, his previous works have been screened at various film festivals and placed at competitions such as the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, HollyShorts Film Festival, NewFilmmakers LA, Stage 32’s Diversity Initiative, and Outstanding Screenplays. As a self-proclaimed emotional support animal, his goal as a filmmaker is to stir feelings and conversations, while telling universal stories through underrepresented lenses.
